The Writer Workshop format is based (primarily) on the traditional MFA creative writing workshop format. A group of writers will come together on a weekly basis to read their work and receive and offer feedback and critique on the writing that has been presented.
During most meetings there will be time for 5-6 readers. Each reader will have 20 minutes. Readers will read aloud 5 pages (or less) of a work in progress, which generally takes about 7-8 minutes, and then they’ll receive feedback from those in attendance during the remaining time.
Readers should bring 10-12 printed copies of their work for attendees to mark up and return to the reader with feedback (and additional comments) not expressed during the workshop.
