Manuscript Formatting

The Writer Workshop utilizes standard manuscript formatting when determining pages for reading. Generally, when properly formatted, a manuscript page contains approximately 250 words.

Here are the basics:

    • 12 point font (preferably Times or Times New Roman)
    • Double Spacing
    • No extra spacing before or after paragraphs
    • 1 inch margins all around
    • Page number (usually in the top right corner)
  • Optional but appreciated:
    • Continuous Line numbers
